Pre-Application Meeting Request
Pre-Application Meeting
The Deschutes County Planning Division offers free pre-application meetings as an opportunity to discuss development proposals for complicated land use projects, prior to the submittal of a land use application. These meetings are not binding on any party and are a chance to answer questions and provide feedback on topics that may require prior research and/or require the participation of other CDD Divisions, County Departments, or other agencies.
Pre-application meetings are held in-person at CDD offices or remotely (by phone or video). Requests are reviewed to ensure all required information is provided. If the request is complete, staff will reach out and schedule a meeting with you. It may take up to two weeks to schedule a meeting and the meeting may be several more weeks later depending on the availability of all parties.
Requests for Pre-Application Meetings Should Include:
- Property location.
- Contact information.
- A conceptual site plan showing all property lines and existing and proposed structures, parking spaces, landscaping, lighting, etc. Instructions and examples can be found here: Site Plan Requirements
- An informative description of the proposal.
- Questions you would like staff to answer.
- Floor plans and elevations, if applicable and available.
- And any other that may be helpful such as maps, photographs, topographic surveys, floodplain surveys, etc.
For any questions, please contact us via our Contact Us form.
DISCLAIMER: Please note that the information and discussions provided in any pre-application meeting and associated phone calls or emails are informal statements made in accordance with DCC 22.20.005 and shall not be deemed to constitute final County action effecting a change in the status of a person's property or conferring any rights, including any reliance rights, on any person.
