Animal waste is not something Code Enforcement enforces.  If there is a significant collection of farm animal waste the Oregon Department of Agriculture may be able to assist.

Work done without permits and Oregon Building Code violations
Code enforcement manages violations of work done without permits and enforces Oregon State Building Code violations.

X   Noise Codes

The noise ordinance in Deschutes County is enforced by the Deschutes County Sheriff’s Office.  To report a noise complaint please call the non-emergency line at 541-693-6911 for police and fire dispatch.  For additional detail see the link below for the county noise code.

Deschutes County does not have codes regulating the amount or type of animals that exist on a property outside of commercial uses.  To report animal welfare issues, please contact the Deschutes County Sheriff’s Office via the non-emergency dispatch at 541-693-6911.

Deschutes County does not have codes related to brush or natural material accumulation. Local fire departments may have information available to provide to homeowners regarding fire mitigation strategies.

 

X  Home Owners Association (HOA) Rules
Deschutes County Code Enforcement is not able to assist with enforcing HOA requirements or any civil requirements that are not County Code.

 

X   Shared well water usage
Water master

Deschutes County does not permit wells or water usage. The State Water Master may be able to assist with questions or complaints regarding wells.

  What uses can I have on my property
Planning
Department
Contact the Deschutes County Planning Department for zoning questions or clarification on what is allowed on a specific property.  You will need the address to obtain the best information, as each property is unique.  Planning Department 541-388-6560 or planning@deschutes.org

 

X  Right of way
Road Department

Deschutes County Code Enforcement is not able to enforce violations outside of private property. For complaints or questions related to violations within the road right of way, please contact the Deschutes County Road Department at 541-388-6581.

For roadway hazards within the right of way, please contact the Deschutes County Sheriff’s Office via non-emergency dispatch at 541-693-6911.

 

Dirt Bike Track Enforcement- Residential

Deschutes County Code Enforcement does not enforce the use of ATVs in rural Deschutes County.  As long as the use is not commercial, ATVs are allowed.  If the noise from the use crosses over into a potential Noise Ordinance violation, please contact the non- emergency line at 541-693-691.

 

X Overgrown Weeds

Code Enforcement does not enforce overgrown weeds or vegetation on personal property.
