Deschutes County Planning Commission Seeks South County Volunteer Member

Deschutes County is recruiting for one volunteer Planning Commission member and is accepting applications until Friday, May 19 at 5 p.m.

The Planning Commission reviews land use policy and zoning regulations and makes recommendations to the Deschutes County Board of Commissioners.  Members are the official citizen involvement committee on land use planning for the unincorporated area of the County, providing a forum for community input.

There is one position on the Planning Commission with a term expiring on June 30, 2017 for a South County member. The 4-year term for this position is July 1, 2017 through June 30, 2021.   

The Planning Commission meets at the Deschutes Services Center (1300 NW Wall Street) in Bend, on the second and fourth Thursdays of each month at 5:30 p.m.  Additional meetings and locations throughout the County are required.

Those interested in serving are invited to submit a complete application form which includes a letter of interest and resume, describing their background and interest in rural land use planning.  Complete applications will be accepted before 5 p.m. on Friday, May 19, 2017.
