Sexually Transmitted Infection/Disease (STI/STD) services through the Downtown Health Center in Central Oregon offer STD testing, treatment, education and prevention.
 
Confidential and low cost testing is available to anyone over the age of 12, regardless of ability to pay.

What to expect when you come in for STD testing at the Downtown Health Center:

  • Nurse will talk with you about your symptoms or reason for visit and take a sexual history
  • Comprehensive STD exam
  • Complete appropriate lab test-- often just peeing in a cup, or a simple finger prick
  • Medication prescribed if necessary
  • HIV risk assessment 
  • Time to ask any questions that you have

Bacteria (can be treated with antibiotics)

Virus (cannot be cured, but sometimes can control the visual symptoms)
    
     HPV/Genital Warts (Human Papilloma Virus) - Vaccine Available at The Downtown Health Center

Clients diagnosed with a reportable STD (Chlamydia, Gonorrhea, Syphilis, Hepatitis B, and HIV/AIDS) will be referred to a staff person for enhanced counseling on transmission and prevention. Additionally, there will be a discussion of how to notify sexual partners for treatment and education. This is all done confidentially at our locations throughout Central Oregon in Bend, Redmond and La Pine.
