STIs and HIV

Who should be tested for STIs and HIV

STI testing is recommended for anyone engaging in vaginal, oral, and/or anal sex. Some STIs can also be spread by sharing injection drug gear.

In Oregon, teens can consent to STI and HIV testing and treatment without a parent's permission.

If you have questions about mpox (monkeypox), please visit our information page here.

Where to get tested

Many local options exist for accessing STI and HIV testing services. Check with your provider or call the confidential STI line at (541) 322-7155 for help with questions and referrals.

STI and HIV testing is offered on our outreach van at various locations throughout Central Oregon. Services are free and confidential. Please visit the HIV Testing page for more information and to view the testing schedule.

The Downtown Health Center is a reproductive health clinic operated by Deschutes County Health Services that offers services on a sliding fee scale.

What if I test positive?

If you are diagnosed with a reportable STI, you will be referred to a staff person for additional education and support. They will talk with you about how to notify your partners so they can access testing and treatment, or they can anonymously notify your partners for you in order to keep your identity completely confidential.
