UpShift

UpShift is an evidence-based program designed to engage with adolescents who are using substances. Research has found that out-of-school-suspensions drive lower graduation rates and increase drop-out risk. UpShift connects students with a trained professional, to identify the root causes of their substance use, and identify strategies to reduce or quit.

The UpShift Program:

• Includes 2-3 individual counseling sessions
• Focuses mainly on alcohol, tobacco and marijuana use
• Involves parents/guardians in the process
