Presenting Additional Appeal Evidence

Petitioners may appear in-person, by telephone or by Teamsvideo.  Please notify the PVAB Clerk no less than 48 hours in advance if you plan on attending via telephone or Teams™ video.  Evidence petitioners submitted with their appeal will be presented to the Property Value Appeals Board for their hearing. There is no need to resubmit that evidence.

Petitioners may submit additional written evidence.

You may provide 1 copy of additional evidence (not presented at the time your petition was filed) up to one week before your hearing date.  This will allow time for us to make copies for the Board members and Assessor’s Office.

If you wish to provide your additional evidence less than one week before your hearing, including at the time of your hearing, please provide 5 physical copies via mail or hand delivery.  All materials presented as evidence will be retained as part of the Board record.  If you are attending your hearing virtually, written evidence and screenshots held up to the camera during the hearing will not be considered evidence per public records retention schedule OAR 166-150-0040.

You may deliver your evidence to the Deschutes County Clerk’s Office by one of the following methods:

  • Email to PVAB-Appeals@deschutes.org
  • Hand-deliver to 1300 NW Wall Street, Suite 202, Bend, OR 97703
  • Mail to Deschutes County Clerk’s Office, PO Box 6005, Bend, OR 97708
  • Fax to 541-383-4424

The people who serve on the Property Value Appeals Board are community members tasked with impartially reviewing data from both the petitioner and the Assessor’s Office.  The aim of this process is to maintain respectful conversation among all parties involved.
