Deschutes County has released this year's Popular Annual Financial Report (PAFR), offering residents a high-level summary of the more detailed Annual Comprehensive Financial Report (ACFR) for the 2024-2025 fiscal year.

The Deschutes County Finance Department has once again received the prestigious Triple Crown medallion from the Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA). This special recognition is given to government agencies that earn all three top honors from the GFOA.

Deschutes County is sending out 2025-2026 property tax statements this week. Property owners will receive their annual bills by mail or email if they signed up for e-statements.

Deschutes County invites community members to apply for an open position on the Budget Committee. Applications will be accepted through Oct. 27.

“We encourage anyone who is interested in county public services and budget processes to apply for this vacancy on the County’s Budget Committee,” said County Administrator Nick Lelack. “This is a great opportunity to learn about and contribute to County operations and finances.”

Request for Proposal - Biohazard Decontamination and Debris Cleanup

Deschutes County is requesting proposals from qualified contractors to establish one or more agreements for biohazard decontamination and debris cleanup at various internal and external locations around the County.

FIRST THREE YEARS OF DELINQUENCY

Property taxes may be paid in full by November 17 or in three installments: November 17, February 17, and May 15.  Taxes on real property not paid on or before May 15 of the tax year in which they are billed are delinquent.  For example, taxes billed in October 2022 are delinquent if not paid by May 15, 2023. The first day of delinquency is May 16, 2023.

One year passes on May 16, 2024;
Two years pass on May 16, 2025;
Three years pass on May 16, 2026;

Notice of Intent to Award Contract - Purchasing Card Program

On July 23, 2025, the Board of County Commissioners, Oregon considered a recommendation for the above-mentioned project. The Board of County Commissioners is awarding a Contract to US Bank via City of Portland Purchasing Card Consortium Cooperative Agreement Participating Addendum.

Deschutes County is moving its online dog licensing program to DocuPet, simplifying the process for owners to license their dogs, comply with state regulations, and ensure a quick reunion if their dogs go missing.  

The Deschutes County Board of Commissioners has unanimously adopted the budget for Fiscal Year 2026 (FY 26), following a series of budget committee hearings held in May.
