Fun Fitness, Inside: when it is smoky or too cold

Dancing: What is your favorite song? Crank up the music and dance it out. Dance alone or grab your family or friends. Try a zumba class or look on YouTube for some dance inspiration.

Obstacle course: Utilize a small space or get together with others and make a challenge in your office or home. Think of long hallways for skipping or lunging, stairs, jumping over pillows, crawling under tables-get creative. You could race against each other or set a timer to make it a challenge.

Boxing: Shadow boxing is an excellent cardio and core workout and possibly even better than hitting a bag. Your body (muscles) have to stop that movement instead of the bag. Try shadow boxing at home, or Box-It and 9 Rounds in Bend offer class options.

Climb: Feeling like you are climbing the walls? Why not actually climb walls with a harness or try bouldering, the free climbing option. The rock gyms are large spaces, which makes you almost feel like you are outside, but without the smoke or ice.

Swim: Full body, low impact, and refreshing, swimming is an excellent indoor sport. Challenge yourself to swimming laps or jump in a water aerobics class for a different type of workout.

Inner animal: Google some animal moves, grab some friends and strut your stuff. Who can do the best bear crawl, crab walk, frog hop? So fun.

Set a timer: Set a timer on your phone for every hour or whatever time designation you choose. Pick a few moves like squats, lunges, pushups, jumping jacks...endless options. Plan to do 5 of each of your chosen moves every time the timer goes off.

Master a move: Have you ever wanted to learn how to do a turkish get-up? Google it and spend some time mastering this new move. Pro-tip: pick a move you can show off to impress your friends.

Free Classes: Almost every gym in town offers a first class free. Try out a few for free while also getting a workout in.
