Final Paycheck/Leave Payoffs

If you have provided the required 14 day notice to leave in good standing, and you are already set up for direct deposit of your paycheck, your final paycheck will be directly deposited in that same account.  If your paycheck cannot be directly deposited, you will be notified.  Your final paycheck will be based on the hours worked in the final pay period, and will include applicable leave payoffs as described below.  If you have any questions regarding the calculation of your final paycheck, please reach out to Payroll staff at payroll@deschutes.org.

 

Time Management Leave or Vacation Leave Accrual

If you were eligible for time management leave or vacation leave accrual, your unused leave balance will be paid on your final paycheck as per the applicable Collective Bargaining Agreement and County Policy.

Sick Leave

If you have unused sick leave on your last day of employment, you may be paid for these hours under the applicable Collective Bargaining Agreement and/or County Policy. Deschutes County participates in the in the PERS unused sick leave program. For Oregon PERS Tier 1 or Tier 2 members, the value of half of your PERS-allowed, accumulated, unused sick leave will be reported to PERS, and may be included in the calculation of your final average salary. Comp Time 

If you were eligible for Comp Time and have an unused balance, it will be paid on your final paycheck as per Federal regulations.

Floating Holiday/Banked Holiday

Floating Holiday must be used prior to your last day of employment.  Employees are not paid off for unused floating holiday.  Banked holidays will be paid off under the applicable Collective Bargaining Agreement and/or County Policy.
