Citizen Input

During the Citizen Input section of the Board's business meeting agendas (typically held on Wednesdays), the public is welcome to provide comment to the Board on any topic that is not on the current agenda.

If you would like to provide input, you can:

  • Attend a meeting in person
  • Attend a meeting virtually
  • Email citizeninput@deschutes.org
  • Call (541) 385-1734 to leave a voicemail message
  • Fill out the form below under Supporting Documents

Residents are allowed up to three minutes to provide testimony. Messages (both voicemail and email) need to be received by 8 a.m. on the day of a meeting. Staff will place your comments into the record.

What’s the testimony process?

If you're providing in-person testimony during a meeting, please sign up to testify on a blue form that is provided near the door of the meeting room. Note the topic you will address. This helps the Chair put similar topics together.

Speak directly into the microphone so you can be heard. State your name and address to begin testifying.

Board meetings allow public testimony but are not a forum for discussions or answering questions.

Upcoming Meeting Information and Online Resources

Agendas and agenda packets are posted by Friday at 5 p.m. for the following week. All meetings are open to the public, except Executive Sessions, as outlined in ORS 192.660.  Video recordings are available online after a meeting ends.

Board Meeting Schedule

The Deschutes County Board of Commissioners meet in the Deschutes Services Center at 1300 NW Wall Street in Bend.

Monday Board of County Commissioner (BOCC) meetings are primarily to allow for information gathering by the BOCC (typically from County departments), to prepare for upcoming public hearings, and executive sessions. In some instances, action items are also handled during this meeting.

Occasionally, the Board will conduct formal meetings in other locations and at other times of the day. Please check meeting information ahead of time to find out if a special meeting has been scheduled to address a specific issue.
