Weekly Road Construction Update - June 22 to June 28
Projects Administered by Deschutes County:
Local Road Pavement Preservation (Bend Area) – Crews will be installing asphalt pavement and doing shoulder work on the following roadways:
- Arrow Avenue
- Obsidian Avenue
- Rincon Avenue
- Somerset Drive
- Tomahawk Street
- Wickiup Road
- Rastovich Road
Traffic Information – There will be temporary roadway closures lasting approximately four hours within the work areas. Affected property owners will be notified of closures in advance. Road users should also expect single-lane closures facilitated by flaggers and delays of up to 20 minutes during work hours, 7 a.m. to 6 p.m., Wednesday through Friday.
Chip Seal (Bend Area) – Deschutes County crews will be chip sealing the following roads (weather permitting):
- McGrath Road
- Neff Road
- Butler Market Road
- Deschutes Market Road
- Deschutes Pleasant Ridge Road
Traffic Information – Road users should expect single-lane closures facilitated by flaggers and delays of up to 20 minutes during work hours, 6:30 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Thursday.
Paving of Powell Butte Highway & Nelson Road (Bend Area) – Crews will be doing cleanup work and miscellaneous trimming on Powell Butte Highway and Nelson Road.
Traffic Information – Road users should expect construction vehicles and equipment entering and exiting the roadway during work hours, 7 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Friday.
Projects Administered by Other Agencies:
Knott Road Closure (City of Bend) – Knott Road will be closed to eastbound traffic between SE 15th Street and Raintree Drive.
Traffic Information – The eastbound closure will begin on Monday, June 23. A signed detour route will be in place for the duration of the closure.
Inquiries pertaining to this closure should be directed to the City of Bend Transportation and Mobility Department.
Skyliners Road / Skyline Ranch Road Intersection Closure (City of Bend) – The intersection of Skyliners Road and Skyline Ranch Road is closed for roundabout construction.
Traffic Information – Skyline Ranch Road is closed to traffic at Skyliners Road until early September. A signed detour route is in place for the duration of the closure.
Inquiries pertaining to this closure should be directed to the City of Bend Transportation and Mobility Department.
U.S. 97: Terrebonne (Oregon Department of Transportation) – Crews will be doing bridge work on Smith Rock Way and along U.S. 97.
Traffic Information – Lower Bridge Way is open to traffic allowing right-in, right-out movements only. Traffic bound for U.S. 97 North will continue to use the signed detour route along NW 19th Street and NW Davidson Way.
Deschutes Market Road / Yeoman Road Intersection Closure (City of Bend) – Deschutes Market Road is closed to traffic at the intersection of Yeoman Road for roundabout construction.
Traffic Information – A detour route is in place via Deschutes Market Road, Hamehook Road and Butler Market Road.
Inquiries pertaining to this closure should be directed to the City of Bend Transportation and Mobility Department.
China Hat Road & FS Road 1815 Closure (US Forest Service) – China Hat Road and Forest Service Road 1815 are both closed at the USFS Boundary for forest thinning.
Traffic Information – China Hat Road and FS Road 1815 are closed to all traffic at the end of County maintenance. Access to the area is closed until further notice.
