Weekly Road Construction Update
Projects Administered by Deschutes County:
Paving of Tumalo Road: Cline Falls Highway to Tumalo Place (Bend Area) – Crews will be installing temporary road signs.
Traffic Information – Road users should anticipate construction vehicles and equipment entering and exiting the roadway during daytime hours. Crews will be doing the paving at night, which is expected to begin at 7 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 17.
Chip Seal/Fog Seal (La Pine Area) – Deschutes County crews will be fog sealing the following roads (weather permitting):
- Huntington Road
- Crescent Creek Drive
- 1st Street
Traffic Information – Road users should anticipate single-lane closures facilitated by flaggers and delays of up to 20 minutes during work hours, 6:30 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Thursday.
Projects Administered by Other Agencies:
Knott Road Closure (City of Bend) – Knott Road is partially closed between SE 15th Street and Raintree Drive.
Traffic Information – Knott Road is closed to eastbound traffic at SE 15th Street. A signed detour route will be in place for the duration of the closure.
Inquiries pertaining to this closure should be directed to the City of Bend Transportation and Mobility Department.
Tumalo Reservoir Road Utility Work – Crews will be doing utility work on Tumalo Reservoir Road between Bailey Road and Johnson Road.
Traffic Information – Tumalo Reservoir Road is closed to northbound traffic between Johnson Road and Bailey Road. Traffic will detour via OB Riley Road, Wood Avenue, and Bailey Road.
Skyliners Road / Skyline Ranch Road Intersection Closure (City of Bend) – The intersection of Skyliners Road and Skyline Ranch Road is closed for roundabout construction.
Traffic Information – Skyline Ranch Road is closed to traffic at Skyliners Road until early September. A signed detour route is in place for the duration of the closure.
Inquiries pertaining to this closure should be directed to the City of Bend Transportation and Mobility Department.
U.S. 97: Terrebonne (Oregon Department of Transportation) – Crews will be doing bridge work on Smith Rock Way and along U.S. 97. They will also be doing culvert work on Smith Rock Way.
Traffic Information – Road users should expect intermittent closures on Smith Rock Way between 11th Street and 16th Street. A signed detour route will be in place during the closures.
Lower Bridge Way is open to traffic allowing only right-in, right-out movements. Traffic bound for U.S. 97 North will continue to use the signed detour route along NW 19th Street and NW Davidson Way.
China Hat Road & FS Road 1815 Closure (US Forest Service) – China Hat Road and Forest Service Road 1815 are both closed at the USFS Boundary for forest thinning work.
Traffic Information – China Hat Road and FS Road 1815 are closed to all traffic at the end of County maintenance. Access to the area is closed until further notice.
