Public hearing scheduled for Community Development work plan
The Board of County Commissioners will host a public hearing on the Community Development Department's work plan for Fiscal Year 2019 on Wednesday, June 13 at 9 a.m. The hearing will be held at the Deschutes Service Center, which is located 1300 NW Wall Street in Bend.
The plan outlines the department’s anticipated projects and goals for the coming year, including:
- Maintaining fast turnaround times for processing permit applications
- Updating the County’s marijuana program
- Completing the Sisters Country Horizons Plan with the City of Sisters, Central Oregon Intergovernmental Council, and community
- Initiating public process to re-evaluate agricultural land designations
- Updating the County’s Transportation System Plan
- Supporting opportunities to provide affordable housing
- Coordinating with the City of Bend to allow new business opportunities at the Bend Airport
- Partnering with the City of Redmond to meet the region’s need for large industrial sites
- Updating the Code Enforcement Policy and Procedures Manual
