Weekly Road Construction Update Week of April 14 to April 20

Asphalt Paving on Hunnell Road

Powell Butte Highway/Butler Market Road Intersection Improvement (Bend Area) –Excavation work will be occurring at the intersection of Powell Butte Highway and Butler Market Road.

Traffic Information – Butler Market Road is closed to traffic between Powell Butte Highway and Dickey Road. A designated detour route is in place via Nelson Road and Dickey Road. The speed limit along the detour route is 35 miles per hour.

Smith Rock Way Bridge Replacement (Terrebonne Area) – Concrete work will be occurring at the Smith Rock Way Bridge.

Traffic Information – Smith Rock Way remains closed to through traffic between NE 33rd Street and Lambert Road for bridge replacement work. A designated detour route is in place via Lambert Road, NE Wilcox Avenue and NE 33rd Street. Access for local traffic will be maintained during construction. Work hours are 7 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Friday.

Hunnell Road: Loco Road to Tumalo Road Improvement (Bend Area) – Paving work will be occurring on Hunnell Road between the Bend city limit and Tumalo Road.

Traffic Information – Hunnell Road remains closed to through traffic. Access for local traffic will be maintained during construction. During paving operations, single-lane closures facilitated by flaggers will be occurring. Local traffic road users should expect delays of up to 20 minutes during work hours.

Prescribed Burning (County-wide) – Prescribed burns may be occurring near various County roads. Information on prescribed burning is available at https://centraloregonfire.org/.

Traffic Information – Road users should expect limited visibility due to smoke during or immediately after a prescribed burn. Most smoke impacts occur during the night and early morning hours.

Burgess Road Utility Work (La Pine Area) – Utility work will be occurring along Burgess Road and Huntington Road near Glenwood Road.

Traffic Information – Shoulder closures and single-lane closures facilitated by flaggers will be occurring on Burgess Road. Road users should exercise caution and expect delays of up to 20 minutes during work hours.
