Sheriff Larry Blanton is the eighth Deschutes County Sheriff and was
sworn into office Monday, April 16th.
During his current term, Sheriff Blanton wants to focus on challenging
issues such as jail overcrowding and matrixing, the remodeling and
reopening of the Work Center, and the growing methamphetamine epidemic
in Deschutes County.
Blanton will serve the balance of Sheriff Les Stiles' term, ending the
first Monday of January, 2009. Blanton plans to run for the office of
Deschutes County Sheriff in 2008 after his appointed term is complete.
