Claudia Wiseman, PhD, MPH, MN, NP/CNM
Claudia grew up in Oregon, married an Oregon man, and did her undergraduate degree at the University of Oregon. She did her graduate work at Emory University, Atlanta, GA, in Public Health and Nursing. Finally, she completed a PhD in Nursing at University of Central Florida in Orlando. Her research included women’s perceptions of prenatal care in both Iceland and Oregon. During this same time, she published a research article investigating the pros and cons of 3D ultrasound during pregnancy.
Claudia has had the opportunity to care for women and address women’s health issues throughout her career. Developing maternity care programs for the State of Oregon, founding the largest maternity care program in North Carolina, delivering >2,000 babies and assisting women with their health care needs, has given her the experience she brings to Deschutes County. Having lived in many parts of the country, she appreciates the unique medical needs of the women in Deschutes County.
Claudia enjoys all things related to Oregon, travel, cooking, family and friends, not necessarily in that order. Bend has always been in her heart and the ability to finally work, here makes her life complete. Claudia is based at the Redmond clinic.
