Tudor Revival Style

Based on English domestic architecture from the 1500s and 1600s, Tudor Revival gained great popularity as a residential style in America during the early 20th century. It can be found in areas all round the County.  Most properties date from the mid 1920s although examples can be found as late at the 1930s. 

Common characteristics are:

  • steeply pitched gable roofs
  • use of stucco, particularly in ends of gables
  • rounded bays and turrets
  • irregular massing
