New Redmond Hotel

Upon Completion, the New Redmond Hotel was billed as the finest hotel east of the mountains.  Room rates ranged from $1.00 to $2.50 per day.  The original Redmond Hotel, a 1906 two-story frame building, burnt to the ground in 1927 after a massive fire that also destroyed 2 1/2 blocks of the downtown core and twelve businesses.  The 43,500 sq. ft. hotel was designed by Bend architect Hugh Thompson, and constructed for $150,000.
