The Butler Building was one of the first independent drug
stores in Redmond at the time of its construction in 1915. Just
three short years after constructing his store J.D. Butler contracted
influenza in a nation-wide epidemic and died. His wife Meda ran the
operation until 1955. The store had exclusive rights to Rexall &
Hyal lines of pharmaceutical products. The building housed a
drugstore for 66 years.
