Last spring it was necessary to limit the office hours of the Deschutes County La Pine Community Development office due to staff changes. The hours are now restored to four days a week for a greater part of the workday.

Hours had been reduced at the La Pine location of Community Development (CDD) due to the promotion of the one Permit Tech in the office. Finding a replacement for the position was compounded by staff retirements and other vacancies. These changes resulted in having three Permit Tech staff in various stages of training over the past months.

During the transition, three seasoned Permit Techs were on rotational assignment at the La Pine office. Tom Anderson, Deschutes County Community Development Director, chose to limit office hours for customer convenience in La Pine rather then temporarily closing the office.

A knowledgeable and experienced Permit Tech has now been assigned to the La Pine office located in the South County Services Center, 51340 S. Hwy 97.

Permanent office hours for the La Pine Community Development office are in effect immediately:

8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. Monday, Tuesday and Thursday

12:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. Wednesday
