There is currently one south County area vacancy on the Deschutes County Planning Commission. This position is intended to represent south Deschutes County, including Sunriver and the La Pine unincorporated area. Applicants from the south County area are preferred.

The Deschutes County Planning Commission reviews land use policy and zoning regulations, and makes recommendations to the Deschutes County Board of Commissioners. Members are the official public involvement committee on land use planning, providing a forum for community input.

The Commission meets in Bend on the second and fourth Thursdays of each month at 5:30 p.m. The term of the position continues through June 30, 2011.

Those interested in serving on the Commission are invited to submit an application and a letter of interest describing the applicant’s background and interest in land use. The Planning Commission application can be obtained from the Deschutes County Community Development Planning Department or from the web address below:
