Directions to County Facilities

Deschutes County is located in the heart of Central Oregon between the towering Cascade Mountain Range to the west and the High Desert to the east. Within the County are three municipalities: the City of Bend, the City of Redmond, and the City of Sisters. Also within County limits are the communities of La Pine, Sunriver, Terrebonne, Alfalfa, Hampton, Brothers, and Millican.

There are four County campuses within the city limits of Bend; the main campus (downtown Bend), health campus, road campus and sheriff campus. Knott landfill is located just outside the Bend city limits. Some departments, such as the Sheriff and Community Development, have satellite offices in other cities and unicorporated communities throughout the county.

If you are traveling from the north (Highway 20 West/Sisters)

1. Travel southeast on US-20
2. Follow US-20 past the Cascade Village Mall (on your left)
3. Merge onto Bend Pkwy S/US-97 S via the ramp to Klamath Falls/Mt. Bachelor
4. Turn right at NW Lafayette Ave
5. Turn right at NW Hill St, following the signage for the “Deschutes Services Center”
6. The conference rooms are located on the first floor; County offices are located on the second floor.

If you are traveling from the east (Highway 20 East/Burns)

1. Travel west on Highway 20
2. Upon entering Bend, continue on NE Greenwood Ave
3. Turn right at NW Hill St (just after you pass under the railroad crossing)
4. From NW Hill St, follow the signage for the “Deschutes Services Center”
5. The conference rooms are located on the first floor; County offices are located on the second floor.

If you are traveling from the north (Highway 97/Redmond)

1. Travel south on US-97
2. Turn right at NW Lafayette Ave
3. Turn right at NW Hill St, following the signage for the “Deschutes Services Center”
4. The conference rooms are located on the first floor; County offices are located on the second floor.

If you are traveling from the south (Highway 97/Sunriver/La Pine)

1. Travel north on US-97
2. Take exit 137 (Revere Ave) toward Downtown
3. Turn left at NW Revere Ave
4. Turn right to merge onto Bend Pkwy S/US-97 S toward Klamath Falls
5. Turn right at NW Lafayette Ave
6. Turn right at NW Hill St, following the signage for the “Deschutes Services Center”
7. The conference rooms are located on the first floor; County offices are located on the second floor.

The Commissioners' Offices, Administration, County Counsel,
Personnel and Property Management are located on the upper level.
An elevator can be accessed from the west entrance.
The board meeting room is located on the first floor

Directions to Solid Waste Transfer Sites

Knott Landfill

Directions Traveling from 3rd St:

From 3rd St in Bend, head east on Greenwood Avenue (Hwy 20). Turn right at 27th Street. The landfill will be approximately 3 miles south on the left.

Directions Traveling from the Parkway:

From the Parkway (Hwy. 97), take the Reed Market Rd. exit and head east. Turn right at 27th Street. The landfill will be 1.5 miles south on the left.

Directions Traveling North on Hwy 97:

From Hwy. 97, take the Knott Road exit. Turn left at Knott Road. The landfill will be 4-5 milesnortheast on the right.

Alfalfa Transfer Station
Walker Rd., Alfalfa, OR

Directions:

The Alfalfa Transfer Station is located on Walker Road between Dodds and Alfalfa Mkt Road, near the community of Alfalfa.

Negus Transfer Station & Recycling
2400 NE Maple St., Redmond, OR 97756

Directions:

The Negus Station is located on Negus Way in Redmond. From Canal Blvd. turn right (east) at Negus Way (just north of the Central Oregon District Hospital). Travel about one mile, until Negus way makes a sharp turn to the left. Travel straight into the transfer station entrance, which is well-marked.

Northwest Transfer Station
Fryrear Rd, Sisters, OR 97756

Directions:

The Northwest Station is located on Fryrear Road between Bend and Sisters. Travel north on Fryrear Road (about 5 miles west of Tumalo off of Hwy 20). The station is approximately 4 miles down the road. Signs will mark your way. The Northwest Transfer Station can also be accessed from Hwy 126 between Sisters and Redmond. Travel south on Fryrear Road; the transfer site is approximately 1 mile down the road.

Southwest Transfer Station
Hwy 97, La Pine, OR 97756

Directions:

The Southwest Transfer Station is located directly off of Highway 97 between Sunriver and La Pine. The turn-off for the transfer site is approximately 1 mile north of the La Pine Recreation Road intersection or 7 miles south of Sunriver. The site is well-signed from both the north and south-bound lanes of Highway 97.
