Deschutes County seeks one to three citizens to serve on the Deschutes County Audit Committee.  Applications are accepted now until Friday, February 26.   

The Audit Committee is an advisory committee to the Board of County Commissioners that:

• Provides oversight and coordination to auditing (external and internal) for the County,
• Reviews and commenting on the work plan for internal audits to be performed,
• Discusses provided reports and information and assessing if further recommendations are needed to the Board, 
• Reviews provided audit reports and information on their own time to prepare for meetings.

The eight member committee is comprised of five public members with the balance from county management.  Committee members serve a two-year volunteer term and meets approximately four times a year. Additional meetings or subcommittee meetings may be called if necessary.   Citizens with financial and/or local government experience are encouraged to apply. Applicants will begin serving their terms July 1, 2010.
