The Paint Smart Program
A Dept. of Solid Waste Special Program
The Paint Smart Program allows households in the county to bring up to 10 gallons of unwanted latex and oil based paints and stains to these participating retailers free of charge to be recycled. Participants can also get tips on how to estimate and purchase the right amount of paint and how to store leftover paint for future use.

Just follow these simple steps:

Seal the lids tightly so the cans don’t leak. (Open or leaking containers cannot be accepted.)

Keep paints in their original containers and leave the labels on.

Never mix oil and latex paints.

Bring in paint during store hours only. All paint containers must be examined by store staff.
