Training and Development

Training and organizational development are high priorities at Deschutes County, where learning activities are designed to promote stronger partnerships at work, identify citizen service strategies, create opportunities for leadership development and facilitate quality improvement. Currently, County employees participate in a comprehensive new employee orientation program, and this is followed with core curriculum offerings for supervisors/leaders and team members. Additionally, diversity training is delivered in a customized format to meet the needs of senior and mid-level managers, supervisors and employees. Technical training, public seminars, professional conferences, career development and tuition reimbursement programs are also supported to increase the overall capacity of the organization through performance improvement.
