GIS Program Information
GIS is a technology that is used to view and analyze data from a geographic perspective. At Deschutes County we utilize GIS technology to meet many community needs including: publishing Assessor Taxmaps that display in detail taxlot boundaries; publishing Road Atlases that provide accurate and up to date maps of roads within the county; publishing Public Safety maps that provide extensive information relied upon by multiple agencies in responding to emergencies; performing land use analyses and growth forecasts to best manage our land development; supporting E 911 operations assuring efficient dispatch of emergency vehicles; and many additional spatial analysis and mapping activities.
