UPDATE ON HOW TO ACCESS H1N1 VACCINATIONS FOR SCHOOL-AGED STUDENTS

H1N1 vaccine continues to arrive in very small quantities each week at which point school districts determine which schools will hold clinics. Please make sure you are checking this website www.deschutes.org/ frequently for the most current information. Things change almost daily based on the supply of vaccine we receive, and the website is the best place to find current dates, locations and information for H1N1 vaccine clinics. Clinic dates and times will be posted as soon as they are known. Children attending public schools are expected to attend the clinic held at their school, and will not be able to be served at a clinic held earlier.

Private school/home-schooled children may seek H1N1 vaccinations the following ways:

1. Children who have high risk medical conditions can try their primary doctor, a school-based health center, Deschutes County Health Services, or attend any school clinic listed on the website.

2. Healthy children (no high risk medical conditions) may attend the clinic held at the school NEAREST TO THEIR HOME, or try their health care provider. Check frequently for the school clinic dates and locations as they are posted to the website as soon as they are known.

Preschool-aged children are not be able to receive vaccine at the school-located clinics. Parents will need to call their healthcare provider, a school-based health center or Deschutes County Health Services to arrange vaccination for these children.
