- What I.D. do I need to get a marriage license?
Our office requires an identification showing your picture and date of birth, perferrably issued by a state or federal agency.
- If I am married in a foreign country or another state, do I need to register my marriage record with your office?
No. Currently, there is no provision under Oregon law to file, register or record your marriage at either the state or local level.
- I just got married, when will I receive my legal marriage certificate?
The only marriage certificate you receive is the memento certificate from your officiant. However, you may request a certified copy of your marriage license. See Request for Marriage Certificate
- I am a minister and have been asked to perform a ceremony in Oregon. What do I need to do?
There is no requirement to register your ordination or ministerial certificate/license for an in-state or out-of-state minister prior to performing a ceremony. The only requirement is to properly complete the marriage license. See Instructions to Officiants
