Purpose:
The Board of County Commissioners convened an advisory committee that met between February and August 2008 to provide recommendations for a financial assistance program to help residents of south Deschutes County offset the costs of implementing groundwater protection solutions. The County has identified about $35 million to apply drinking water protection in the region.
The Board understands, based on groundwater models, that taking action as soon as possible to protect drinking water is important.
Background Materials:
Advisory committee members are defined as public officials under statute. As such, the requirements of Oregon Revised Statute 244 (Oregon ethics law), including amendments adopted by SB 10, apply to members of this committee.
