Bend Metro Park & Recreation District’s KIDS INC.

Offers KIDS INC., a before and after school care, enrichment, and recreation program for Bend elementary school children at 8 locations, serving approximately 350 children per day.  Through this program, working parents have a safe place for their children to be before and after school and children have a place where they can learn, create, explore and make new friends.

Needs:

Eight computers and printers (one for each site)

 

They would love to give children the opportunity to work on computers during before and after school hours.  This would provide a new avenue for the children to enhance their computer skills, complete homework, and expand their learning.

 

Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Oregon

To inspire and enable all young people, especially those from disadvantaged circumstances, to realize their full potential as productive, responsible, and caring citizens.

Supplies and equipment (to support our five core program areas: Character and Leadership Development, Education and Career Development, Health and life Skills, The Arts, and Sports, Fitness and Recreation)

 

A $325 donation supports one youth’s year-long activities at a Club in Warm Springs, Madras, Prineville, Terrebonne, Redmond, Tumalo, Bend or La Pine.  Volunteers are needed as tutors, mentors, group club advisors, and computer tutors.

A gift of $50 would pay for one week at day camp for a child in need.    A gift of $100 would pay for one week at Summerkids Day Care for a child in need. A gift of $120 would pay for a child to attend one year of the Camp FireClub program.

A gift of $100 will help sponsor a team to participate in a youth sports program.  A gift of $30 will give a child an opportunity to participate in a sport activity.

 

Central Oregon Partnerships for Youth (COPY)

Provides trained mentors for children of incarcerated parents. Children are 5 to 15 years old living in or very near Deschutes County with at least one parent serving a jail or prison sentence of 12 months or longer.

Crystal Peaks Youth Ranch

Provides after-school tutoring and educational activities year-round for children of families within the housing program.
