Central Oregon Council on Aging "Meals on Wheels"

Promotes programs that enhance the dignity, well being and independence of seniors in Central Oregon.

Monetary donations

 

A gift of $35 will provide one week’s worth of hot meals to a homebound elderly person who is unable to or has no one to help prepare meals for them.

 

Interfaith Volunteer Caregivers of Central Oregon (IVC)

Helps seniors, persons living with disabilities and their families with services like transportation and escort, friendly visits and telephone reassurance, shopping, light housekeeping and yard work, minor home repair and respite care.

Volunteers

 

A gift of $100 will provide 20 hours of volunteer services to a neighbor in need.

 

RSVP (Retired & Senior Volunteer Program)

Recruits and connects people 55 years of age and older to volunteer to meet community needs to over 124 agencies.  Volunteers often bring years of professional experience to their volunteer positions, offering a wide range of skills and abilities in service to their commun-i-ties. That is why RSVP program's flexibility encourages people 55 years and up to put their creativity and problem-solving skills to work.

Needs:

Books for preschool to 6 year olds

Washable yarn (for knitting blankets/sweaters/caps for babies in high risk families)

Supplies for reading activity bags (including alphabet games, reward stickers and toys, miniature books and flash cards)

 

Nearly 500 books are needed each year.  Over 200 high-risk families are in need of baby clothing.

 

United Senior Citizens of Bend

A place for moderate- to low-income seniors to go for fun and recreation, nutritional meals and companionship.

Monetary donations (for USCB building fund)

 

Monetary donations will provide for an “activity room” and furnishings to extend our overcrowded facility to provide more activities for the seniors and provide a source of income (rental) to support USCB.
