It’s Illegal to Shoot Whales in Oklahoma:   Stir up action in your community!  Do you see a need to create or change an existing public policy that affects teens in your community?  What types of policies are out there?  Gain ideas and skills you need to positively impact existing policies or create new ones that benefit youth.

F

Who am I?   Exploring Culture & Identity:  Are you the one who’s different or is it me? This workshop will provide an opportunity to talk about diversity and difference. Understand OUR diverse community through activities such as family stories, and interacting and interviewing group members.  Understand more about the diversity in the community we share!

B

Friendly Refusal (girls only):   Don’t let what others say affect you or your decisions. This session will teach you how to be assertive and how making healthy decisions will keep you safe and happy. Practice with resisting peer pressure will help you protect #1: yourself.

G

Radio Media & You:   Does big business know who you are?  Are you feeling pressured by targeted advertising?  Want to fight back?  You can do it and this workshop will show you how!  We’ll use problem gambling as a focal point for developing messages that tell of the risks and how to avoid them.  Create your own radio media messages that reflect healthy, successful choices!

C

Youth in ACTION   Lights, cameras, youth in ACTION!  This interactive session will get you out of the same old classroom activities and connected with yourself and your friends!  Use film making to INSPIRE others to choose healthy behaviors.

H

Youth Leadership 101:   Join our keynote speaker, Justin Boudreau, for an insider’s look at what makes for a good youth leader.  What can you learn from the leaders in your life?  You might be surprised at the leadership traits that set you apart!

D

Drama in Real Life:   Unravel your positive personal identity by evaluating your personal beliefs.   Through a series of theater games, learn more about how you communicate who you are to others.  Do you already know yourself?  What does self image have to do with success in life?  You can develop a personal goal based on your positive personal identity!  Join the fun and share what you learn today with others!

I

Adult Advisor Session:   Be inspired by Dave Turnbull, Summit H.S. teacher & coach, as he shares a powerful message on making a difference in the lives of others.  Gain insights into working with youth and the importance of connecting with your community.  Get a copy of our free “toolbox” packet, full of creative ideas and potential conference projects.
