"Since taking the PHA last year my husband and I have made several sustainable changes. We have incorporated walking and started consuming chia seeds daily. We have also started meal planning whenever possible. I have seen a great difference in my overall health and our numbers are down. We will definitely be participating again this year!"
- Maria Gonzales, 2017 participant
"Five years ago I had my PHA done. Medcor staff sat down with me, went over my numbers and explained what it all meant. I found out I could make some life style changes to better my health and feel more energetic. We made an appointment with Juli for a way to get to better health through diet and exercise. I learned a lot. I made some changes. It wasn’t long before my numbers were getting better and I started feeling better. I look forward to my yearly PHA."
-Anonymous, multi-year participant
"I had known that I had to make some health changes. I felt awful, I had gained weight and I was using every bit of what energy I had for work. I didn't do the PHA initially because I didn't like my health condition; it is funny how you avoid knowing the numbers when you most need that information.
When I answered the health questions this past year for the PHA, I answered that I was planning to make a change, and I did. I committed to myself to drink 64 oz of water, walk 10,000 steps a day, get 8 hours sleep, not eat after 6pm, and lower my daily calorie intake by 30%. I held myself to that commitment, and gradually started increasing my exercise level.
I went in and had a blood screen done and my cholesterol and all my stats have improved. I feel so much better, and now able to do activities beyond work!"
