Meditation is any form of deliberate thought, often used for relaxation and reflection by bringing calm to the body and mind. There are formal and informal ways to practice meditation, none of them right or wrong.
Any individual on the DC health plan is welcomed to try a free mediation class, details below.
Introductory Essential Meditation
These sessions are an introduction to various meditation techniques, allowing you to learn about and try a variety of styles of meditation to find what fits you.

Meditation in Motion: Qi Gong
This is an ancient Chinese practice that incorporates focused physical movements with focused breathing techniques.

The Instructor
These sessions will be taught by Mark Montgomery. Mark is an acupuncturist, teacher and co-owner at Bend Community Healing. He has studied many different meditative and healing traditions in the US and China. Mark’s passion is to bring the ancient tools for self-healing that he has learned over the last 40 years to as many people as possible.

Anyone enrolled in the County Employee Benefits Plan, including employees (and their dependents) of Deschutes county or COIC, retirees, and people enrolled in COBRA coverage may use the Deschutes Onsite Clinic (DOC), DOC Pharmacy, and Well Connect. The clinic practitioners will see adults and children ages two years and older.
DOC services are not available to the general public. Please visit the Deschutes County Health Services department for services offered to the public.
