Road Projects Begin Monday, June 6

Road projects are expected to be complete September 9, 2011

Deschutes County Oregon -- 6/1/2011 --

On Monday, June 6, construction crews will begin work on the full depth reclamation of La Pine State Recreation Road, South Century Drive and Spring River Road located south of Sunriver. 

The areas of road construction are:

1. La Pine State Recreation Road:  Highway 97 to 5th Street

2. South Century Drive:  Spring River Road to Maxwell Bridge

3. Spring River Road:  Spring River Bridge to USFS boundary

This project will involve grinding the existing base material (cinders) and pavement to a depth of eight (8) inches, mixing that material with cement and water to create a cement treated base, compacting that base and then paving over that surface with a four (4) inch lift of A.C. pavement.    The contract completion date is September 9, 2011.

Traffic will be limited to one lane and drivers can expect delays of up to 20 minutes during construction. Hours of operation will be from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Drivers should use alternate routes where possible.
