DA Appoints Two Deputies in August

Deschutes County Oregon -- 7/11/2011 --

From the District Attorney: I am pleased to announce that former Deschutes County deputy district attorney Mary F. Anderson will be returning to the District Attorney’s Office in August and Bend attorney Lillah McBride will be joining the office near the end of August.

Mary Anderson is a 1995 graduate of the University of Oregon School of Law. Currently in private practice doing both civil and criminal work, Mary served 13 years as a prosecutor, most of which service was here in Deschutes County.

Mary brings a wealth of talent and experience to an already powerful team of prosecutors and will no doubt hit the ground running.

When asked about her return to the DA’s Office Mary Anderson said “I look forward to working with District Attorney Patrick Flaherty and the team of people that comprise the Deschutes County District Attorney’s Office. I applied for the position after speaking with Patrick and discussing his vision for the office and his goals for the future. Executing his vision and implementing the goals he has set will benefit my community and I am delighted to have this opportunity.”

Lillah McBride did her undergraduate studies at the University of Southern Mississippi where she obtained her B.S. in English Literature and was an honors graduate. Ms. McBride studied law at Willamette University College of Law receiving her J.D. in 2003 and has practiced in both criminal and civil law here in Deschutes County since 2004. Ms. McBride has a solid background in juvenile law with experience handling both delinquency and dependency cases and is well-respected by the bench and bar.
