Baney Elected to Lead Statewide County Assoc.

The first to represent Deschutes in the org since 1968

Deschutes County Commissioner Tammy Baney is the President of the Association of Oregon Counties (AOC) following a unanimous vote at the organization's annual conference in Eugene last week.

Commissioner Baney is the first to represent Deschutes County as President of the organization since 1968. Her year in office at AOC will emphasize shared services and solving issues across county lines.

President Baney has been a Deschutes County commissioner since 2007.  She is a graduate of the AOC - Oregon State University Extension Service County College program and is actively involved in community and state activities.  She is also a member of the Oregon Transportation Commission.
