BOCC Dismisses Deschutes County Administrator

Deschutes County Oregon -- 8/23/2011 --

The Board of County Commissioners (BOCC) voted this afternoon to terminate the employment contract of Deschutes County Administrator Dave Kanner.

After reviewing performance evaluation standards and the expectations of the BOCC, the Board decided in a two-to-one vote that discontinuing the contract would be in the best interest of Deschutes County. The decision to dismiss the County Administrator was made during Kanner’s annual review.

The Board of County Commissioners has appointed Deputy County Administrator Erik Kropp as interim County Administrator.

The Board is grateful to Dave Kanner for sharing his vast knowledge and experience that has benefited Deschutes County residents in the areas of policy, procedure and finance.
