Deschutes County 9-1-1 Service District seeks volunteers to serve on the District’s Citizen Funding Panel. Chosen participants of the new Panel will be a group of residents who live within the Deschutes County 9-1-1 Service District. The Panel will review the District’s funding needs and develop a permanent funding rate to be recommended to the Deschutes Board of County Commissioners.
The District is seeking candidates who:
1. Have an interest in helping determine the public safety needs of Deschutes County
2. Have a general understanding of public financing and budgeting
3. Are willing to attend and participate in four meetings to be held September 28, October 5, 12, and 19 from 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
Meetings will be held at the 9-1-1 Center and dinner will be provided at no charge to participants.
Depending on the number of qualified applications received, between 7 and 9 volunteers will be selected by the Board of County Commissioners. Employees or members of a governing body of the County or of any taxing district within Deschutes County will not be considered to participate.
If you are interested in contributing to the stability of 9-1-1 services, please submit a resume and an application packet. A resume and Deschutes County application must be received in the Deschutes County Personnel Department no later than 5:00 p.m. on Monday, September 19, 2011.
The Funding Panel appointment process will be completed by September 23, 2011.
