Sexually Transmitted Infections/Diseases (STIs/STDs) services through The SPOT locations in Central Oregon work to educate and prevent STIs/STDs, including HIV, and to promote sexual health within Deschutes County.
 
The SPOT locations in Bend, Redmond and La Pine provide confidential, low cost STI/STD infection screening to all persons over the age of 12, regardless of their ability to pay.  The locations for services in Central Oregon are for both men and women.  All information disclosed by clients is confidential.

We have locations throughout Central Oregon in Bend, Redmond and La Pine.  Please see below for locations and hours.

When a client visits one of our locations in Bend, Redmond or La Pine, a nurse or nurse practitioner will discuss their symptoms or reasons for the visit, review their health and sexual history, perform a comprehensive STI/STD exam, complete appropriate lab tests, and prescribe medication if appropriate.  The nurse will also perform an HIV risk assessment.  We want clients to ask questions during the visit and feel comfortable getting the information they need. The nurse will provide answers and information that will help prevent further risk of infections. Free condoms are available at all our locations.
 
Different Types of STIs/STDs:

Bacteria (can be treated with antibiotics)

     Chlamydia
     Gonorrhea
     Syphilis 
 
Virus (cannot be cured, but sometimes can control the visual symptoms)
    
    
HPV/Genital Warts (Human Papilloma Virus) - Vaccine Available at The SPOT
     Herpes Simplex I & II
     HIV / AIDS
     Hepatitis B & C - Vaccine Available for Hepatitis B at The SPOT

Others (can be treated)
     
     Bacterial Vaginosis
     Yeast
     Molluscum Contagiosum
     Pubic lice
     Scabies 
     Trichomoniasis
     Pelvic Inflammatory Infections 

Clients diagnosed with a reportable STD (Chlamydia, Gonorrhea, Syphilis, Hepatitis B, and HIV/AIDS) will be referred to a staff person for enhanced counseling on transmission and prevention. Additionally, there will be a discussion of how to notify sexual partners for treatment and education. This is all done confidentially at our locations throughout Central Oregon in Bend, Redmond and La Pine.
