How Do I Access School Based Counseling?

Services may be recommended by the school administration or requested by parents through the school counselor or teacher. Information shared by the student with the behavioral health therapist is strictly confidential and does not become part of the student’s school records.

Who Funds School Based Services?

In partnership with the Bend/La Pine and Redmond School Districts, Deschutes County Health Services provides school-based assessment, consultation and counseling services for children and youth demonstrating mental health related problems. Behavioral health therapists are assigned to specific schools identified by the school districts, where treatment is provided for students who would otherwise not have access to mental health care.
