Behavioral Health Advisory Board

The Behavioral Health Advisory Board is established by the Board of County Commissioners to address the needs of Deschutes County residents in the areas of addiction, mental health and developmental disabilities, to improve community relations with Deschutes County Health Services, to increase public knowledge, and to assist in the betterment of the service delivery system. The Advisory Board also advises the Deschutes County Administrator and Commissioners concerning the operation of the Health Services Department and community treatment delivery systems for addictions, mental health and developmental disabilities.

The Behavioral Health Advisory Board is seeking volunteer Board members who live in Bend, Redmond, La Pine, Sisters or Sunriver.  Residents who are interested in helping plan, guide and evaluate how publicly funded mental health, developmental disabilities and substance abuse treatment services are delivered in Deschutes County should consider applying.  The Board is in particular need of representatives who have received behavioral health services in the community or those who have a personal perspective regarding the local system of care.  We are also in need of ethnic diversity on the Board. Board members are asked to attend monthly meetings, to serve three-year terms of office and are not compensated for this service.  Please see link at right to download an application packet.
