Deschutes County's GIS Program produces a series of atlases & maps that are in use by: Emergency Service Personnel; Local Planners, Developers, and Engineering Firms; Area Real Estate Agencies, Property Appraisers; and Property Owners.
Public Safety Map Atlases
The Deschutes County Public Safety Map Series was developed to meet the needs of emergency service agencies. The maps are designed to provide detailed information for areas directly impacted by an emergency and to help emergency managers develop appropriate response and evacuation plans. The design of the maps was based on extensive input and review by the emergency response community. A key aspect of the design process is to assure that information is clearly portrayed. In addition, efforts are being made by 9-1-1 to continuously update the maps to ensure that the most accurate and current information possible is available for use by emergency services personnel. The Public Safety Map Series has four components, which include the following products:
- Photo Series Emergency Services Atlas: 11"x17"
- Poster Series Emergency Services Atlas: 36"x48"
- Urban Series Emergency Services \ Roads Atlas: 8.5"x11"
- Rural Series Emergency Services \ Roads Atlas: 8.5"x11"
Land Use
We have maps available from the Deschutes County Community Development Department which describe zoning, comprehensive plan, and combining zones.
Property Tax Maps
The Deschutes County Assessor's Office utilizes GIS software to develop maps for assessment and taxation purposes.
