Property Tax Payments

Oregon property taxes are assessed for the July 1st to June 30th fiscal year. Tax Statements are sent to owners by October 25th each year. The first payment is due by November 15th.

Payment Options

Pay in Full

You may pay your property taxes in one lump sum. Payments made in full by November 15th receive a 3% discount.

Installment Payments

You may pay your property taxes in three installments.

Due dates for 2013-14 taxes are:

  • November 15th, 2013
  • February 18th, 2014
  • May 15th, 2014

Payments of two-thirds or greater made by November 15th will receive a discount of 2% of the amount paid. The remaining one-third is due on May 15th.

Tax Payment Methods

In Person

Cash, check, money order and major credit and debit cards are accepted at the Deschutes County Taxation Office
Location: 1300 NW Wall St., Bend, Oregon 97701.

Credit and debit card payments are processed through Official Payments Corporation and may not reflect on your balance owing for up to 3 business days.  Convenience fees will apply.

Mail

Cash, Check and money order, payable to "Deschutes County Tax Collector" are accepted.
Your cancelled check is your receipt. All payments are processed upon receipt.

Local Banks

Pay your taxes in person at selected bank locations in Deschutes County. Additional information about making tax payments at a banking institution can be found on page four of the Tax & Assessment Information Insert that was included with your tax statement. Please note that local banks can only accept payments on or before the November 15 deadline.

Major credit cards, debit cards and eChecks are accepted. Payments by phone are processed by Official Payments Corporation and may not reflect on your balance owing for up to 3 business days.

  • Debit Cards: Visa debit cards will be charged a flat fee of $3.95 per transaction. For all other debit cards a convenience fee of 2.50% of the payment amount will be charged. There is a minimum fee of $3.95 per transaction.
  • Credit cards: a convenience fee of 2.50% of the payment amount will be charged. There is a minimum fee of $3.95 per transaction.
  • eChecks: a convenience fee of $2.00 per transaction will be charged up to $10,000, $15.00 if greater than $10,000.

You will be asked to provide your Deschutes County Property Tax account number in addition to the credit card or checking account information for your selected payment method.

Major credit cards, debit cards and eChecks are accepted. Payments submitted online are processed by Official Payments Corporation and may not reflect on your balance owing for up to 3 business days.

The Deschutes County Property Tax Payments page will provide account balances as of the date indicated. Please call if you believe the information to be incorrect. A valid e-mail address is required as a confirmation receipt is e-mailed to the user. Your payment is considered timely if the transmission time and date is prior to 11:59pm on the due date.

Official Payments Corporation

Official Payments Corporation is a third-party payment service provider, through which Deschutes County can accept credit cards, debit cards or eCheck property tax payments. Deschutes County does not collect or retain any portion of the convenience fees charged by Official Payments Corporation. 

Deschutes County does not issue refunds for payments processed via Official Payments Corporation. If you have a question about charges made to your account, please contact the Tax Office.
