Marty Wynne, Finance Director and Treasurer

Deschutes County Finance Director and Treasurer Marty Wynne took office in September 1997; his current term expires in January 2015.
Marty WynneMr. Wynne began service with Deschutes County in January 1996 as Finance Director and was later appointed to the “elected” Treasurer position effective September 1997, to fill out the term of the elected Treasurer who retired at that time. He was elected to his fourth four-year term in November 2010, for the term beginning January 2011.

Mr. Wynne was Finance Director with the City of Gresham from 1978 to 1984. He is currently a member of the Oregon Municipal Finance Officers Association, a member of the Oregon Association of County Treasurers and Finance Officers and a member of the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada. His other government experience includes positions held with the City of Downey, California as Finance Director, Manager of Financial Systems, Accounting Supervisor, and Senior Accountant. He served as Chief Financial Officer for the American Red Cross in Portland, Oregon from 1984 to 1995 and was a member of the National American Red Cross Financial Advisory Committee for seven years, chairing the committee for two years. His background also includes the position of Corporate Auditor with Union Oil Corporation of California. He received his Bachelor’s Degree in Finance from California State University at Fullerton. He served four years in the United States Air Force.
