Comments policy and disclaimer for users of social software and social media pertaining to Deschutes County
Deschutes County offers blogs, interactive community forums, and other social software tools for educational, cultural, civic and recreational purposes. These social software tools provide a limited (or designated) public forum to facilitate the sharing of ideas, opinions and information about county-related subjects and issues. Deschutes County social software is intended to create a welcoming and inviting online space where users can interact with other interested citizens and county staff for civic engagement. Comments are moderated by county staff and staff reserve the right to remove comments that are unlawful or off topic.
Definition of social software:
Social software is defined as any web application, site or account offered by the county that facilitates the sharing of opinions and information about county related subjects and issues.
Rules for commenting:
Posts containing the following are against county rules and will be deleted before posting or removed by county staff:
- Copyright violations
- Off topic comments
- Commercial material/spam
- Duplicated posts from the same individual
- Obscene posts
- Specific and imminent threats
- Libelous comments
- Images
