The Community Development Department conducted an analysis of the County's agricultural lands
program to determine if changes are needed. This analysis included a public outreach campaign
facilitating an opportunity for residents, community members, and stakeholders to review existing
conditions, understand emerging issues, and provide feedback about the opportunities and challenges
facing Exclusive Farm Use (EFU) zoned lands. The details and results of this outreach are provided
in the background section below.
On October 29, 2014, Planning Division staff met with the Board of the County Commissioners (BOCC)
to provide an update and tentative timeline for the Agricultural Lands Program going forward. The
direction given by the BOCC will be addressed at subsequent Planning Commission and BOCC meetings.
