Debi Harr, Financial Analyst
Debi has been with the Children & Families Commission since July of 2001, has a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, and is a Certified Payroll Professional. Debi handles all the financial activities of the Commission; including the budget, payroll, accounts payable and accounts receivable.
Debi enjoys hiking and camping in the summer, and cross country skiing in the winter.
Sarah Peterson, Community Project Coordinator
Sarah has been with the CFC since October of 2005 and has a Master of Business Administration. Sarah coordinates child abuse and neglect and domestic violence prevention activities in Deschutes County. Sarah administers federal, state and local grants, monitors program outcomes and reports program activities to funders. Sarah works with citizen volunteer and professional groups to identify local needs and improve the coordinated community response to child abuse and domestic violence.
Sarah lived in the interior of Alaska for 25 years where she developed a love for wild, natural places. When not at work Sarah is either in the wilderness or planning her next adventure.
Jessica Kelly, Prevention Coordinator/Staff Lead
Jessica has worked with CFC since September 2009. Ms. Kelly has oversight of the adolescent and young adult high risk behavior area of CFC. This includes prevention and early intervention of substance abuse, suicide, juvenile crime, bullying, and gambling. Her previous work experience also includes public health prevention. Prior to her work at CFC she worked at Deschutes County Health Services in tobacco and other chronic disease prevention. Before arriving in Deschutes County she held the Prevention Coordinator position for Benton County in Corvallis, Oregon. She has a Master’s in Public Health with a focus on health promotion, education and evaluation and a Bachelor’s in Science with a focus on nutrition science.
When not at work Jessica can be found playing with her son and hiking with her dogs.
Sherrie Carol Williamson, Administrative Assistant
Sherrie has been with the CFC since January of 2011. She moved from Eugene and has a history with assisting at the executive level in the offices of Higher Education such as the President’s Office at the University of Oregon, the Chancellor’s Office and the Oregon University System. Sherrie helps coordinate the CFC offices and works closely with all building partners to ensure safety, communication, and collaboration among departments.
When not at work, Sherrie enjoys power walking daily, reading, kayaking and being with her grandson. She has a very special love for and bonds closely with animals.
Hillary Saraceno, MS, Director
Hillary has been the director of the CFC since January 2005. She has a Bachelor of Science Degree in School and Community Health, a Master of Science Degree in Health Education and has completed all required course work for a second Master of Science Degree in Educational Policy and Management with emphasis in leadership. Prior to joining the CFC, she worked for twenty years with the Deschutes County Public Health Department as a Program Manager overseeing the WIC program, family violence, tobacco and chronic disease prevention, and other public health priorities and initiatives.
When not at work, Hillary enjoys being with family and friends, great food, athletic pursuits, outdoor recreation and many forms of artistic expression.
Julie Spackman, CPS, Community Project Coordinator
Hired in August 2008, Julie provides technical assistance, training, and project management services for the substance abuse prevention community coalitions in Deschutes County. She has a Bachelor of Arts degree in English and History, and was previously a certified teacher. She served in the field of workforce development for 15 years prior to her work with the County. Julie obtained her Prevention Specialist Certification in 2009, and is currently pursuing certification as a Volunteer Management Trainer.
Julie and her family moved back to Oregon in 2000 after many years in interior Alaska. They now enjoy their rural lifestyle in the small community of Alfalfa, east of Bend. Cross-country skiing, cooking, reading, camping, hiking, and spending time with family are Julie’s favorite past-times. She volunteers with Deschutes County 4-H, Eastmont Church, and as a blood donor.
Nicholas Stevenson, MS, CPS, Community Project Coordinator
Nicholas has been with the CFC since November of 2010, has a Master of Science degree and is a Certified Prevention Specialist. Nicholas helps coordinate juvenile substance abuse, crime, gambling, and suicide prevention in Deschutes County. Nicholas also provides research and data analysis expertise to help identify local needs and best practices to guide community prevention efforts.
When not at work Nicholas loves to mountain bike, snowboard, fish, and embark on many other outdoor adventures. He also loves playing with his dogs.
Stephanie Sundborg, MS, Early Childhood Specialist
Stephanie has a Master of Science in Cognitive Psychology, with an emphasis on brain biology. Stephanie has been involved with CFC since May 2008, first as a board member and now as the Early Childhood Specialist. In this role, Stephanie works on education and policy change around early childhood issues, such as childcare and early learning.
Outside of work, Stephanie enjoys spending time with her family (husband, three children, and yellow lab named Moose).
