“Inside Deschutes County” was a 30-minute newsmagazine produced by Deschutes County to inform residents about Deschutes County operations, how tax dollars are spent, and to inform citizens about the many services and programs that are offered by the County and affiliated public agencies.
The first show aired on Bend Cable, Channel 11 (for Bend, Redmond, Sisters, and Black Butte Ranch residents) Tuesday, March 7, 2000.
Each “Inside Deschutes County” episode addressed four areas of interest including public safety, community partners and services, children and families, and transportation. Past issues of “Inside Deschutes County” have included the following topics: winter traction, impacts of destination resorts, The Bethlehem Inn and other non-profit organizations, snow plowing, tracking sex offenders, pedestrian crosswalk stings, understanding tax statements and County financial safeguards.
You can see some of the archived copies below, but all past shows are kept on VHS at the Deschutes County Administration Office. Copies can be checked out for public viewing by calling (541) 388-6571.
